Cmd Meeting is built by Happy Jack Media as an on-device meeting recording, transcription, and summarization tool. This page describes what the app does with your data in plain language.
Summary
Cmd Meeting does not collect your data, does not send it to Happy Jack Media or any third party, and does not use it for tracking or advertising. Audio, transcripts, and summaries stay on your Mac unless you explicitly enable the one optional integration described below.
What Cmd Meeting accesses, and why
| Access | Purpose | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| Microphone / audio input | Captures meeting audio from whichever input device you select | Stays on your Mac |
| Calendar (optional, off by default) | Read-only lookup around scheduled prompts, to avoid skipping a slot with a real meeting and to show its title in the notification | Never leaves your Mac; never written to |
| A folder you choose for saved recordings/transcripts | Where transcripts, summaries, and archived recordings are written | Local to your Mac |
Where your data is processed
- Transcription happens entirely on-device using Apple's Speech framework. No audio is sent to Apple, Happy Jack Media, or any other service for transcription.
- Summarization happens on-device using Apple's Foundation Models framework when available. If it isn't available on your Mac, Cmd Meeting can fall back to a locally-running Ollama model — still on your own machine, not a cloud service.
- History and search are stored in a local database on your Mac. Nothing is uploaded for indexing.
The one optional network integration
Cmd Meeting can optionally post a text summary (never the raw audio or full transcript) to a private server you configure yourself, as a pending suggestion for a human to review — this is off by default and only sends data if you turn it on and supply your own server's address and API key. This server belongs to you or your organization, not to Happy Jack Media or any third party, and Happy Jack Media does not receive this data either.
What Cmd Meeting never does
- Never sends audio, transcripts, or summaries to Happy Jack Media.
- Never sends any data to advertising, analytics, or tracking services.
- Never links your data to an identity for cross-app or cross-site tracking.
- Never shares your data with a third party.
Data retention and deletion
Raw recordings are kept for a period you configure (7 days by default), then moved to an archive folder you choose — never deleted automatically. Transcripts and summaries are kept indefinitely in your local history unless you delete them yourself. Since everything lives in files and a database on your own Mac, deleting them is entirely in your control — there's no copy anywhere else to remove.
